Thyroid disorders are common and are sometimes difficult to manage.  There are many individual doctors managing thyroid disorders in Cape Town.  However, this clinic uses a team of specialists, that have honed their skills at Groote Schuur Hospital and are active participants in academic medicine, to efficiently provide a comprehensive assessment of patients with thyroid dysfunction .  The team includes an endocrinologist, endocrine surgeon, nuclear radiologist and oncologist.  These specialists have the skills and knowledge required to efficiently manage thyroid disorders such as hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, drug-induced thyroid dysfunction, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer.

This private clinic is currently situated at the UCT Private Academic Hospital, Anzio Road, Observatory, Cape Town.

Patients are initially assessed by a specialist who is an endocrinologist.  After the diagnosis has been made the patient continues under the direct care of the endocrinologist or is referred to an appropriate specialist in the multi-disciplinary team
